We Built a God Damned Motherfucking Thing and You Just Got Fired which is why you shouldn't be reading blogs at work in the first place.

I hate everyone. I will never buy a product again that I cannot pay someone to assemble.

Teenage children are a shitty labor pool. Fuck all humanity.

Teenage children may be useless, but retired parents are EXCELLENT helpers. My dad’s been helping me do the electrical in my workshop and it looks awesome.

Unless the task involves changing bulbs, one should always call a guy

Oh calm down and have a beer. Your box without sides looks good! :)

Lemme guess, you think IKEA stuff is hard to put together?

My semi-retired dad was supposed to help me finish the electrical work in my basement ... Like 5 years ago. “Oh, didn’t we do that already?”

“ semi -retired”

Well there’s your problem

useful tip for drilling studs to run electrical - forstner bits cut fast, make really nice holes, and are compact enough to avoid needing the crazy right angle drill.

My workshop floor currently looks like someone went hog wild w/ a pencil sharpener.

Kinja'd!!!

Once the electricity is turned on I’ll get the shop vac out there.

I wouldn’t say “hard” but I always recommend a second set of eyes.

Sent from my IKEA bed frame with the header on the wrong side.

Invite him for some beers in your basement...and oh, what’s that? The lights are flickering? Well there’s some tools right here. Might as well fix it, pops! Lol

That’s a good idea! I’ve got a shorty paddle but with an auger end (Bosch makes them) that lets me get in there with a regular drill.

Not a bad idea. Not a bad idea at all.

Ha!

I’ve had to undo a couple things in the past to redo them, but in general I find them rather simple. I normally only look at pictures on instructions, and only read the words if I get confused, so not having words on Ikea instructions is NBD.

Look at my blog, my father-in-law and I made one out of raw lumber last year. For us the worst part was building a level deck since our yard had a slope. The actual pergola was gravy by comparison.
